CPLI Reinforces Vision for a Sustainable World, Securing Two National T-VER Standard Projects to Elevate Green Spaces into a Role Model, Advancing a 10-Year Carbon Sequestration Commitment Towards Net Zero 2050

Leadership Development Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., or the CP Leadership Institute (CPLI), proudly makes environmental history by receiving honorary certificates and successfully registering two projects under the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (Standard T-VER). Certified by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment through the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, these dual projects cover over 230 rai of green space with a continuous 10-year crediting period. Achieving this national standard aims to elevate the institute's grounds into a comprehensive learning center for natural resource management, serving as a crucial driving force in reducing greenhouse gas emissions to co-create a better tomorrow.

The recent T-VER standard registrations comprise two key initiatives. First, the Sustainable Carbon Forest Learning Center, C.P. Leadership Institute, spanning 125.04 rai, integrates landscaped forests, existing teak plots, and newly planted forests, with an expected greenhouse gas reduction and sequestration volume of 97 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. Second, the Fast-Growing Economic Tree Learning Center, C.P. Leadership Institute, covering 106.59 rai, focuses on the scientifically sound planting of hybrid acacia (Acacia mangium x auriculiformis). This project is projected to sequester 254 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.

This remarkable success stems from a strategic synergy with the Carbon Credit Business Group of Charoen Pokphand Produce Co., Ltd., and the Office of Sustainability, Good Governance, and Corporate Compliance. Together, they are driving corporate social responsibility forward to mitigate the severe impacts of climate change, while concretely preparing for Charoen Pokphand Group's goals of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

CPLI's dedication to environmental stewardship has been continuous since 2020. To date, the institute has planted and nurtured over 10,000 seedlings both inside and outside its premises. This success is guaranteed by the Silver-level Outstanding Organization award from the "LESS Friendship Awards" and the receipt of 10 Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) honorary certificates over the past four years. All these driving forces are vital preparations toward the Carbon Neutrality 2030 and Net Zero 2050 goals. However, the true significance lies not merely in planting trees, but in "cultivating a mindset." It aims to inspire the new generation of leaders to recognize the power of positive change, ensuring that a pristine and sustainable world is gracefully passed on to future generations.
