Leadership Development Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (CPLI) has announced a significant achievement by receiving the "Outstanding" award in the Renewable Energy category for On-Grid projects at the Thailand Energy Awards 2024. Organized by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) under the Ministry of Energy, this prestigious accolade serves as a testament to the excellence of the "Floating Solar" project implemented at the CP Leadership Institute, demonstrating the effective application of clean energy innovation.
This honor acts as a crucial catalyst in strengthening the institute's strategic position as a "Sustainability Hub" and establishing it as a model for environmentally friendly corporate governance. The Floating Solar project boasts an installed capacity of 832 kilowatts, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 670 households. It generates 1.2 million units of clean energy annually, contributing to a reduction of over 17,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions throughout its operational lifespan. The electricity generated is circulated for actual use within the institute. This initiative represents a pivotal strategy in propelling the organization toward achieving 100% renewable energy utilization (RE 100) by 2025, while advancing its roadmap to attain Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero emissions by 2050.
