Charoen Pokphand Leadership Institute Awarded Certificate of Honor from the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) Project from TGO for the 5th certificate, Moving forward to Achieve Carbon Neutrality Goals

Charoen Pokphand Leadership Institute (CPLI) recognizes the importance of adapting to climate change (Climate Resilience) and participating in solving problems because climate change is a critical global agenda that is likely to have significant impacts on the economy, society, and environment in the future. Additionally, CPLI is aware of its role in creating sustainable benefits for the nation, people, and the organization, following the "Three Benefits" principle that Charoen Pokphand Group has adhered to in conducting its business and giving back to the nation from the past to the present.

Recently, CPLI passed the certification standards and received a certificate of honor from the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) project for its sustainable operations in the dimension of waste management from upstream to downstream, between July 2022 to July 2023. The assessment showed that CPLI reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 32.259 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

The initiative began with promoting waste management within the organization by arranging separate trash bins for each waste type in service areas for customers and employees, allowing everyone to participate in waste separation at the source or upstream. This helps increase the efficiency of cleaning staff operations and the amount of recyclable waste before it is collected and stored in a waste room, awaiting the final step or downstream process, which is selling the waste to entities with the capacity to manage recyclable waste further.

With the commitment to conducting business responsibly, CPLI has currently received 5 certificates of honor from the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) project, operated by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). The total greenhouse gas emission reduction achieved is 1,626.298 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, resulting from operations in 3 categories: forestry and agriculture projects, waste management projects, and energy projects.
