CPLI Inspires Environmental Awareness on World Environment Day Through “Grow Greens in Cups” Activity at Pakchong School

The CP Leadership Institute (CPLI) marked World Environment Day 2025 by leading a meaningful initiative titled “Grow Greens in Cups: Cultivating Young Green Leaders for a Better Tomorrow” at Pakchong School, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The event was part of CPLI’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, engaging youth through hands-on environmental learning and community action.

CPLI executives and team members worked closely with students throughout the activity, offering guidance and sharing practical knowledge on environmental preservation. By turning everyday waste into a tool for growth, the program empowered students to see themselves as active stewards of the planet.

The event was organized in collaboration with Pakchong School, the Nakhon Ratchasima Secondary Education Service Area Office, the “We Love Pakchong” youth group, and various environmental networks. Together, they welcomed around 500 participants to promote natural resource conservation and pollution reduction.

CPLI hosted an ESG knowledge exhibition and led the interactive activity “Grow Greens in Cups,” encouraging students to reuse single-use plastic cups in place of traditional nursery bags. Over 500 tree seeds were planted, with the seedlings to be nurtured by the school for use in a symbolic “Wian Tian with Tree” during an upcoming Buddhist holiday in July.

The event also raised awareness about the global waste crisis. Citing data from the Pollution Control Department, students learned that Thailand uses approximately 9.75 billion single-use plastic cups annually. Yet, only 19% are recycled, underscoring the urgent need for creative reuse and waste reduction strategies.

This activity served to educate and strengthen collaboration between private organizations and educational institutions in embedding environmental consciousness at a young age. It reflects CPLI’s alignment with the ESG framework and CP Group’s “Three Benefits to Sustainability” philosophy—benefiting the country, the people, and the organization.
