For the concept of this painting, Professor Panya drew inspiration from his concern for the current world situation that is facing a global warming crisis which is causing massive damage everywhere. He wanted to communicate this to people by creating awareness so that we can band together and find solutions to heal the world, striking a harmonious balance between humankind and nature in the world we live in as well as bring about world peace.
About the Artist
Professor Panya Vijinthanasarn
Professor Panya Wijinthanasarn, awarded National Artist - Visual Arts (Painting) 2014, was born on June 24, 1956 in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. He remained there until he came to study in Bangkok where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Thai Arts from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Print of Silpakorn University. He then received a scholarship from the British Council to further his art studies and completed a diploma in Graphic Arts from Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, United Kingdom.
