CPLI Collaborates with Partner CPP to Conduct Tree Measurement Activity for Earth Day 2024, Continuing the LESS Project for the Third Year
In honor of Earth Day 2024, CP Leadership Institute (CPLI) in partnership with the Complete Plant Protection business (CPP) conducted the "CPLI Cares for the Earth" activity, measuring over 750 trees across 15 acres. This event continues the LESS project, now in its third year, highlighting CPLI's commitment to environmental sustainability through its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.
CPLI recognizes the crucial importance of climate resilience and actively participates in addressing global climate change challenges. The institute is dedicated to developing new leaders who prioritize sustainable practices, aligning with the "Three Benefits" principle that guides the Charoen Pokphand Group's operations—benefits for the country, the people, and the organization. This principle has been the foundation of the group's business practices from its inception to the present day.
In collaboration with CPP, CPLI invited employees to join the "CPLI Going Greener: Measuring Tree Carbon Sequestration for LESS Certification, Year 3" event. Participants attended a seminar on sustainable organizational development (ESG), greenhouse gas reduction initiatives (LESS), and the methods for measuring tree height and girth. Following the seminar, they applied their knowledge to measure over 750 trees on CPLI's 15-acre property.
The tree measurement activity to assess carbon sequestration at CPLI was first initiated in 2022. The results were subsequently submitted to the LESS project, with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) certifying that CPLI sequestered 1,626.298 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. This achievement has brought pride to the organization and serves as motivation to continue its efforts into the third year. CPLI remains committed to further expanding its green areas to enhance its carbon sequestration potential.
