YTL Field Trip & Learning Unlocks Sustainability Experiences, Translating Ideas into Tangible Impact

On October 26–27, 2026, the Young Transformative Leaders (YTL) program organized a "Field Trip & Learning" event at the CP Leadership Institute (CPLI) in Nakhon Ratchasima. The initiative provided participants from six key projects—namely "#FIGHTSmog: Youth Power for Clean Air... for a Better Tomorrow" (Phase 2), Food Waste, Zero Waste, Education, Zero Hunger, and Cybersecurity—with the opportunity to learn directly from CP Group's real-world operations. This immersive experience, combined with an exchange of sustainability knowledge and perspectives, aimed to build their capacity to develop projects that generate tangible, positive impact.
The event featured a Sustainability Field Trip Experience, allowing participants to study actual business operations and understand CP Group’s multidimensional approach to sustainability. Key learning stations included CPRAM, focusing on Food Waste Management & Resource Efficiency; CP RICE, highlighting Sustainable Agriculture & Traceability; and CPLI, exploring Renewable Energy & Carbon Management. These site visits provided participants with concrete examples of how sustainability concepts are successfully applied in real-world business practices.
In addition, a Learning Day was held at CPLI, where the CPG team shared their expertise on "Designing Sustainable Impact." This session focused on structuring projects to maximize efficiency using concepts and tools such as Social Return on Investment (SROI) and Project Valuation. The team also discussed emerging trends, challenges, and the future direction of sustainability, equipping participants with the systematic knowledge needed to refine their projects and achieve long-term sustainable goals.
Another major highlight was a special inspirational session with Alex Rendell. He shared his personal experiences and perspectives from hands-on social and environmental advocacy, imparting his vision for driving change. His stories motivated the YTL participants to push past challenges and remain deeply committed to creating continuous, meaningful impact.
The Field Trip & Learning activity reflects the YTL program's core learning philosophy, which seamlessly bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world experience. It created a dynamic space for exchanging perspectives and empowered the younger generation to think critically, analyze deeply, and develop creative solutions. This approach elevates early-stage concepts into actionable practices, ultimately driving changes that create sustainable value for society and the environment.
This two-day learning journey did more than just broaden perspectives and deepen sustainability knowledge; it empowered a new generation to connect what they learned with practical execution. By doing so, they are well-prepared to develop their projects into clear, long-term successes. This perfectly aligns with the YTL program's mission to cultivate young leaders who are ready to serve as a vital force in driving change and building a sustainable future for our society and the environment.
