Clean Air for the Future... CPLI Wins the Korat Net Zero Leadership Award 2026 & Leadership Spotlight, Championing Environmental Stewardship for a Sustainable World
Amidst the climate crisis and continuously rising global temperatures that directly affect all life, Charoen Pokphand Leadership Institute (CPLI) recognizes the urgency of restoring nature to deliver clean air back to society. Representing the institute, Mr. Phut Phosrithong, Deputy Managing Director, received the Korat Net Zero Leadership Award 2026 plaque at the Korat Net Zero 2026 event. The award was honorably co-presented by Mr. Anupong Suksomnit, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and Ms. Jenjira Kongthong, Chairwoman of the Federation of Thai Industries, Nakhon Ratchasima Chapter, honoring the institute's commitment to environmental care and its concrete efforts in driving greenhouse gas reduction policies.
This pride builds upon the historic success of CPLI receiving registration for the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (Standard T-VER) from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) for two projects simultaneously. Covering over 230 rai of green space, these include the Sustainable Carbon Forest Learning Center Project on 125.04 rai and the Fast-Growing Economic Wood Learning Center Project on 106.59 rai. Both projects have a continuous crediting period of 10 years and are expected to sequester a total of over 351 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. This achievement stems from a collaborative synergy with the carbon credit business group and related agencies to prepare for the Carbon Neutrality target by 2030 and the Net Zero target by 2050.
Beyond the carbon sequestration figures, this green space serves as a living natural classroom. The true significance of driving this initiative since 2020, which involves planting and nursing over 10,000 seedlings, goes beyond simply expanding forest areas; it is about planting a mindset. It aims to nurture and inspire the next generation of leaders to realize that truly successful business management must grow in harmony with a profound responsibility toward the planet and society.
