CPLI Announces 100% Clean Energy Success, Welcoming PEA and EGAT to Showcase its Potential as a Sustainability Role Model
CP Leadership Institute (CPLI) announces a significant advancement in its journey to becoming a green leadership institute, driven by the goal of utilizing 100% clean electricity. On this occasion, Ms. Pimonrat Reephattanavijitkul, Chief People Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group and President of CPLI, welcomed a delegation of top executives. The delegation included Ms. Suchada Kongtham, Director of the Energy Economics Policy Department at the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and Mr. Supachai Koonset, Assistant Governor for Research, Innovation, and Business Development at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). They honored the institute with their visit to witness and demonstrate a shared commitment to fully driving the transition to clean energy. The executives and participants were also guided on a site tour to observe the real-world operation of solar energy innovations within the institute.
CPLI's milestone of utilizing 100% clean energy stems from a systematic and integrated energy management approach. This involves synergistic clean energy components, including the development of self-generated renewable energy through innovative Floating Solar and Solar Tracking systems, operating in tandem with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). These technologies successfully increase the organization's clean energy usage up to 50 percent. When seamlessly combined with the procurement of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) and participation in the Utility Green Tariff 1 (UGT1) program, it creates a comprehensive pathway toward genuinely achieving the 100% renewable energy target. Opening this space as a living role-model classroom reinforces the core concept that true leadership must go hand-in-hand with business operations that grow in parallel with environmental and social responsibility.
The success in adopting 100% clean energy and accomplishing the target of zero greenhouse gas emissions from electricity consumption (Zero Scope 2) in 2025 serves as a vital bridge and milestone. It will propel CPLI and Charoen Pokphand Group forward toward the even greater goal of sustainably becoming a Net Zero Emissions organization by 2050. This crucial step will inspire next-generation leaders and all sectors to collaboratively elevate organizational potential and hand over a beautiful world to future generations.
