CPLI Hosts ESG Workshop for CP Scholarship Students 2024: Hands-On Activity Promotes Sustainability
CP Leadership Institute (CPLI) recently organized an ESG Workshop for students receiving CP Group scholarships in 2024 as part of the “CP Scholarship Boot Camp 2024.” This initiative aimed to instill the principles of sustainable development through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. A highlight of the event was the hands-on activity, “Bring Your Cups to Grow Seedlings,” which repurposed discarded beverage cups into planters for nurturing seedlings. These seedlings will later be distributed to communities for safe, home-grown food or planted to expand green spaces.
The “Bring Your Cups to Grow Seedlings” activity offered participants an opportunity to understand and actively engage with sustainable resource management. The event began with a presentation on ESG concepts and the pressing sustainability challenges facing the world. This session fostered environmental awareness and encouraged participants to take proactive steps to protect the environment and society.
The seedlings included kitchen herbs like holy basil and sweet basil, and tree species such as Cassia fistula and Spathodea, totaling 200 plants. This hands-on experience deepened participants' understanding of sustainable development principles while promoting social and environmental responsibility.
The young participants gained valuable insights into preserving resources and fostering sustainability by engaging in this activity. They are now better equipped to pass on these practices, ensuring a strong foundation for a resilient society and a sustainable future.
